Chinese Communist Revolution

Listen to "Chinese Communist Revolution"

Mao and the Chinese Communist Party's victory was both psychological and physical. The psychological is a combination of power vacuum in rural China, the incompetency of the GMD, and the populist policies of Mao. The majority of this episode is my opinion on why the final reason is the most important. The physical relies on 3 major campaigns conducted by the Communists: Liaoshen, Huaihai, and Pingjin. The final few minutes of this episode discuss this Chinese Civil War (1945-1949).

Just wanted to say I enjoy your podcasts. Glad to see another halfie (i'm half chinese, half white) out there who enjoys military history. Your delivery is good, though a bit dry (try some inflection, where's the passion?). Have you ever considered historical miniature wargaming. This seems like something that would be up your alley. If you're interested in learning more about it, look up miniature wargaming on wikipedia.

Communism fails to account for human self-interest, whereas as capatilism accounts for and thrives on self-preservation. (Free market, checks and balances)
