- Destroy the previous hereditary line
- Attack the strong, leave the weak
- Act unilaterally
- Live in the conquered territory
- Send in colonists rather than soldiers

Very informative, really enjoyed this. His thoughts on mentality of leaders and the attention to psychological impacts of war and rule are really interesting.
I used it for a report. It really helped.
